Experience

I've been a instructor at  Oakland Technology Exchange West, a non-profit that provides computers to students and volunteers. Being a young adult I do have an advantage of growing up this digital age but I am also able to relay my knowledge in an easy to understand fashion.    Though I teach intermediate level classes, due to the nature of our audience I have spent many hours teaching people indivudally how to complete basic computer tasks such as: copy and paste, word processing, signing up for a G-mail account, sending attachments and how to effectively use their e-mail accounts.

As a Technician when I go to a client's  home, usually to set up a computer and install software I am always greeted with many questions. "Why did that pop up here?"  "Why do I need an anti-virus"  "How can I get my pictures off of my digital camera?". I answer these questions while I'm there because well, how else will they learn.  Instead of asking your technician or computer savvy friends and family, why not invest the time in a in-home tutoring session with me.

When it comes to Math, of course having an engineering degree my skills are above average.  However I also tutored freelance for the past 2 years including a contract position with a small company that helps prepare Georgia Students for the Georgia High School Graduate Test (GHGT). Summer 2011 I was a lab assistant at Laney College for a physics class taught to high-school juniors and seniors.   But I'm more than just a math whiz with a degree. When I was younger I struggled with Math as well and I understand that every student learns differently.
